Thermostable and fire-resistant polymers based on chloral and its derivatives

V. V. Korshak, A. L. Rusanov

A. N. Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds, USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract: The possible ways of using chloral and its derivatives as monomers for the synthesis of fire-resistant and thermostable carbochain and heterochain polymers are examined. Questions concerning the synthesis from chloral of the polyfunctional monomers used to prepare polyheteroarylenes with specific properties are given an especially detailed consideration.
