Carbene synthesis and chemical reactions of cyclopropene-3-carboxylate esters — promising intermediates for organic synthesis

M. N. Protopopova, E. A. Shapiro

N. D. Zelinskii Institute of Organic Chemistry of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract: The data on the methods of synthesis and chemical reactions of cyclopropene-3-carboxylate esters have been correlated and classified. Particular attention has been given to the direct carbene synthesis of cyclopropene esters, which provides an accessible route to compounds of this series. In studying the chemical reactions particular attention has been given to selective reactions that provide the opportunity of using cyclopropene-3-carboxylate esters in organic synthesis to obtain various types of compounds.
