Abstract:
Based on the previously developed linear theory of propagation and attenuation of acoustic waves in polydisperse gas suspensions, theoretical, and experimental data are compared. The dependences of the attenuation decrement on the wavelength on the perturbation frequency for a mixture of air with polydisperse aluminum particles are constructed. It is shown that a polydisperse model in gas suspensions yields a more accurate description of the experiment than does a monodisperse model.
