An Atmospheric Discharge Initiated by a High-Power Electron Beam

Abstract: Experimental results are analyzed which demonstrate the emergence of a discharge of an unusual mushroom shape with clearly defined boundaries arising in the vicinity of a screened high-power electron beam. A model is suggested which explains the main characteristic features of the discharge.
