Abstract: In the study of hierarchical games a hypothesis on the behavior of the low-level player is normally accepted. It simplifies sufficiently both the solution of the problem in hand and its reasoning. The adequacy of this hypothesis is discussed below. The simplest two-player game is used to illustrate both the major problems and some approaches to their solution.
Keywords: hierarchical games, maximum guaranteed result, robustness.
