Abstract:
The article describes a unique experimental arrangement based on broadband dye-laser, which allows to investigate ultrafast optical defasing processes in condenced matter with femtosecond (20–30 fs) time resolution by means of incoherent photon echo. The main advantages of this method are: a) femtosecond laser technique not being used; b) realization of “soft” sample excitation mode. The experimental results of ultrafast phase relaxation processes research performed by means of four-wave mixing technique in amorphous polymethylmethacrylate doped with rhodamine-101 molecules at room temperature are presented.
