Software for distance learning of theoretical mechanics: requirements and possible implementations

Abstract:
Distance learning is being successfully implemented in the process of the engineering staff training. However, software teaching tools used in distance learning of theoretical mechanics do not allow students to form generalized problem-solving methods. To solve this problem, the authors formulated a special psychological, educational requirements for the development of distance learning software and options for implementation of such programs, based on the use of random number generator and the ability to input the answer in symbolic form (in the form of formulas).
