Abstract: The concept of atom appeared first in qualitative Dynamical Systems Theory finds its applications in many different branches of modern Low-Dimensional Topology. The atoms possess their own interest and so they are investigated intensively. We consider an important particular case of maximal symmetrical atoms, so called vertical maximal symmetrical atoms which turn out to permit a simple description.
Key words: atom, symmetries of atoms, vertical atom.
