Numerical simulation of fluid flow in a fractured porous medium

O. A. Khodos

Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics
Abstract: Various approaches to study the filtration in a fractured porous medium are discussed. As an example, three approaches are compared using the axisymmetric filtration in a conducting layer. The first approach is the so-called elastic mode of filtration in a layer with homogenized properties. In the second approach, the problem is formulated in terms of two unknown functions of pressures averaged over cracks and pores. In the framework of the third approach, a two-scale filtration model in which the pore filtration is limited by the size of each porous block is proposed.
Key words: fractured porous medium, dual-porosity model.
