On the Question of $3D$ Decomposition Efficiency for the Numerical Solution of Transport Equation with the Use of Multiprocessor Computer with Distributed Memory
E. A. Danilkin Tomsk State University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics
Abstract:
This paper is devoted to comparison of various ways of decomposition for the numerical solution of transport equation by finite volume method. The preliminary theoretical analysis of transfer costs of a data and numerical experiment with the use of multiprocessor computer TGU SKIF Cyberia were conducted. The investigation has shown that $3D$ decomposition does not give a gain in time in comparison with $2D$ decomposition, at least, for the quantity of processors which is not exceeding 250.
