Abstract: The volume marks the 75th birthday of the outstanding mathematician Vladimir Petrovich Platonov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The papers presented in this volume reflect recent results in various fields of algebra (including the theory of algebraic groups and Lie groups, theory of formal groups and transformation groups, and theory of algebras and representation theory), algebraic topology (including the theory of Hirzebruch genera defined by elliptic curves), geometry, and number theory. Most of the papers are closely connected with the research of V. P. Platonov and written by his students and colleagues from around the world.
