Abstract: We give lower and upper bounds on the differential characteristic of piecewise-affine permutations over the field $\mathbb{F}_{q}$, $q=p^{n}$, $p$ is a prime number, $n\in \mathbb{N}$.
Keywords: nonlinear mapping, permutation, s-box, piecewise-affine mapping, adapted spectral-differential method.
