Abstract: Recent results in the chemistry of various pincer IrIII complexes are highlighted with the particular attention paid to the activation of Ir–Cl and Z–H bonds (Z–H=M–H, B–H, N–H, etc.) via low-energy (non-covalent) interactions (hydrogen bonded or Lewis complexes) and the role of such interactions in the proposed mechanisms of amine–borane dehydrogenation reaction.
