A branching of solutions of kinetic equations and the shock waves

N. N. Fimin, V. A. Chuyanov

M. V. Keldysh Institute for Applied Mathematics, Russian Academy of Sciences
Abstract: The present paper is dedicated to investigation of phenonomenon of nonlinear Boltzmann-like kinetic equation solutions branching. The common properties of this equation trivial solution bifurcation origin are determined. As example of weak shock-wave problem in onedimensional case the physical consequences of this phenomenon are analyzed.
