Abstract: The simulation of the Wien separator for the neutron-enriched nuclei study is under considaration. Using the moment method a parameter optimization have been fulfilled to obtain the maximum resolution. The ion beam dynamics and heavy ion separation have been illustrated using the macroparticle simulation with account of beam space charge and electric self-field nonlinearity. It is shown that a Wien separator provides an effective separation of the fission fragments with the high atomic numbers.
