Abstract:
We survey feature sets of main mobile device management systems on the market. All features are split into 7 categories: mobile platform support, hosting mode, policy management, inventory management, device state management, security management, software distribution. For each category, we identify the features that are implemented in most MDM systems. These features must be implemented in any new mobile device management system that is supposed to compete with current market leaders' software. The analysis also showed that there is a set of features (namely, device location discovery, and remote access to equipment) that are desired, yet underrepresented in mobile device management software, so implementation of thesefeatures may become an advantage.
