Three-dimensional electron-beam light modulator

E. R. Mustel', S. I. Nikanorov, V. N. Parygin, G. Kh. Fridman
Abstract: The construction and the physical basis of the operation were studied for a three-dimensional election-beam light modulator utilizing a cooled KFF crystal. A comparative analysis was made of the possible information storage methods. It was demonstrated experimentally that there was no need to employ a high-precision temperature stabilization system under nonequilibrium recording conditions. The resolving power and the contrast of the image produced by the modulator were investigated. An analysis was made of the ways in which the system could be optimized. Various applications of the modulator were considered.
