Abstract: The values of the molecular constants and thermodynamic functions of $\rm Sc_2\rm Cl_6$ are chosen as a result of a critical analysis of experimental and theoretical data on the structure and vibration frequencies of the dimer of scandium trichloride molecules. From these, the composition of scandium trichloride vapor is calculated in the temperature range $800$$1240$ K. The thermochemical characteristics of $\rm Sc_2\rm Cl_6$ were obtained are also refined for $\rm ScCl_3$.
