Abstract:
The process of the impulse outflow of a gas jet occurring due to the discharge inside the discharge chamber is studied experimentally. The flow was investigated by means of the schlieren-visualization and the Particle Image Velocimetry optical techniques. During the study, impulse jet parameter variations were obtained. A number of features were revealed of the impulse outflow from the discharge chamber, such as formation of a second vortex ring, reduction of the vortex ring circulation during the outflow, and formation of vortices in front of the main vortex ring.
