Control in Technology and Process Control
Modeling train routes at passenger station
A. A. Ambartzumyan, S. A. Branishtov Institute of Control Sciences of RAS
Abstract:
Planning problems for a large train station are considered. We propose a discrete event (DE) modeling of a railway station and methods of supervisory control. The main purpose of DE-modeling of a complex system is to study dynamics of a process as a sequence of events (language model). This model is very productive for many problems in transport systems with complicated structure, such as routing problems, platforming, scheduling. DE-model describes both the structure of a transport system and its behavior, it is determined by the language; the specification sets limits on behavior of a system, and a supervisor provides implementation of this specification. Separate modeling of structure, conditions and control reduces the complexity of algorithms.
