Abstract:
At the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky geodynamic test site, for almost 20 years, a network of monitoring stations for subsoil radon has been operating. During the work, a number of anomalies were registered, which preceded earthquakes with a magnitude $M > 5$, which by morphological features are divided into two types (A, B). The paper analyzed in detail the mechanism of occurrence of type B anomalies on the basis of a mathematical model for the propagation of radon in a stream of groundwater with complete transverse mixing. An attempt was made to link some features of the appearance of predictive anomalies of type B with the areas of occurrence of earthquakes.
