Seminar 1. Our goals

We discussed organisational issues and formulated what can be studied in the foundations of quantum mechanics. First of all, we talked about physical theories in general: what can be considered a physical theory, what are the examples of physical theories, how they differ from each other and how they can be compared. We will be interested in properties of quantum theory, and in ways how it can differ from classical theory. Therefore, we talked about the mathematical apparatus of classical and quantum mechanics of finite systems.
