Nonlinear ionization of a two-dimensional nanostructure

Abstract:
Analytical expressions are obtained for the ionization rate and partial probabilities of ionization of a two-dimensional quantum dot in the field of a linearly polarized electromagnetic wave. The total probability of the ionization of a two-dimensional quantum dot by a dc electric field is calculated. The probability of the ionization of a system upon the superposition of dc and low-frequency electric fields of the same direction is determined. The results are compared with data obtained previously for one- and three-dimensional nanostructures with the short-range confining potential.
